My standard fee is $130 per 50-minute individual session and $145 for a 50 minute couple session. I keep a limited number of reduced fee session slots and have specific criteria for offering clients a reduced fee. If paying the standard fee represents a financial hardship, we discuss options during your first session.
Trying therapy should be easy. To help you get started, I offer new clients a no-cost initial session. During this first session, we will discuss your reason for seeking therapy and your hopes and goals for therapy. You can also ask any questions you may have about therapy and how we would work together. If you feel that I would be a good fit for you and your goals, we can schedule a regular session. If not, I will provide you with a list of referrals.
To set up a first session, email me at matt@mattcoxtherapy.com or use this "contact me" form.
I do not take insurance. However, I will produce a monthly statement (often referred to as a superbill) that clients can submit to their insurance providers. The insurance provider then pays the client directly, reimbursing for sessions at an “out of network” provider rate. Clients should research their coverage and direct questions to their insurance provider.
I bill clients using a credit/debit card the client submits during the intake process. Following a session, a client’s card is automatically charged for the session. If a client does not wish to be billed automatically, an invoice will be sent following a session. The invoice will contain an online payment link.
All client information is stored digitally using a secure HIPAA-compliant practice management system. The system permits clients to digitally sign intake forms and update information through a simple client portal. Using a digital practice management system also keeps my therapy practice paper free and helps protect your privacy as a client.
